About Shaler Area Inline

Shaler Area Inline Hockey was founded in 2000 by Al Andrzejczyk to provide students (boys and girls) the opportunity to represent our school district in the sport of Inline Hockey. SAIH is excited as the first generation players are now rejoining the program as parents, coaches, and ambassadors of the sport.

SAIH participates in the PIRHL for an 18 game season (September through March) around the Pittsburgh region. We compete against 20 different school districts such as North Allegheny, Hampton, Seneca Valley, Cannon-Mac, etc. Inline Hockey is a fast-paced game played 4-on-4 with no offsides and no icing limiting the number of stoppages.

If you play Dek Hockey and want to ramp up the intensity, play Ice Hockey and want to work on your game (without breaking your parent's bank account), or are an existing Inline Hockey player, Shaler Area Inline provides tons of rink time at an affordable price.

The 2021-22 season our program had five teams in three age divisions. The teams were made up of one Elementary team, one Middle School teams, and three High School teams. There are 20 school districts (over 80 teams) that compete in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Roller Hockey League. PIRHL is the largest scholastic organization in the United States as recognized by the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) of which we are a member. You can learn more about PIRHL. by visiting their PIRHL.net.
